Remembering A Fellow Islander and A Hero

    

    Most of you have probably already heard about the tragedy that took place Dec. 1st at the home of Nathan Paet in Las Vegas Nevada. The 28 year old Iraqi War Veteran was gunned down in from of his home as he was leaving for work. Nathan was a staff sergeant for the 757th aircraft maintenance squadron at Nellis Air Force Base. Paet joined the Air Force in 2002. He had been stationed in Arizona and Alaska before moving to Las Vegas back in 2007. 

    The staff sergeant was gunned down as he opened this garage door on the way to work at Nellis Air Force Base. After being shot, he stumbled back into his home and died. His neighbors say they saw one man take off running after the shooting.

     Police have arrested 31 year old Michael M. Rodriguez, 33 year old Corry A. Hawkins and 23 year old Jessica Austin. All are facing murder and cospiracy to commit murder charges. In addition the wife of murdered Iraq war veteran Nathan Paet has been arrested as a suspect. According to authorities Michelle Paet is being booked for murder with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit burglary.
